PostSubject: explanation of the courtesy rule , and the proper way to give CC   05/07/08, 02:24 pm

you may see people posting in an animation thread , and at the end of their comment saying "courtesy?". i once was confused by this , but it's actually very simple. when someone asks for courtesy , it means they want you to post in their animation thread , because they posted in yours. your aloud to ask for courtesy , just as long as you make a good comment. if you want to make a good comment , then you need to give CC(Constructive Critisicm). meaning , you tell them things they need to improve on. here's an example of bad CC:
Quote:
just horrible , i hate them.

courtesy?

this would be a horrible comment. there's nothing saying how to improve , it is very rude , and courtesy is wanted after such a horrible comment. here's an example of goood CC:
Quote:
they were pretty good. you eased nicely , and they were smooth. but you do need to work a little on moving every joint every frame , to remove stiffness. besides that , they're great. keep up the good work.

courtesy?

this would be a great comment. it said how to improve , things that were good , and didn't need improvement on , and it wasn't rude at all. if you make a comment similar to this , it's ok to ask for courtesy.

hope this helped.
